CAMBRIDGE CIRCLE RESIDENCE
NAZARENO + GUERRERO DESIGN CONSULTANCY
Built on a corner lot fronting the park, this 1000sqm residential project's layered facade is but a peek into the play of textures and multilevel structures that make up this home’s practical yet design-forward look. Setting the tone are patterned granite tiles first applied to the low-level fence and recurring throughout the structure, including the angled walls that bookend the left side of the house and continue on the interior as the dining room’s main wall. Upon entering, an expertly cantilevered 5-meter canopy offers an expansive and dramatic entryway covering.
Meanwhile, the second floor’s windows, visible from the front of the house, boast aerofoil-like aluminum louvers that draw the eye horizontally with its angled slats. This linear design theme is reflected in the fine lines of the special-cut wooden eaves that anchor the roof’s jackknife edges, and are also applied to the foamcrete (CNC-machine cut styrofoam wrapped in concrete used for precision application) exterior accent panels of the master bedroom and den. A pop of color by way of the pool, with its water feature and floating steps, ties this modern manse to its tropical city setting.
